Laura used to be an A list celebrity model, before being completely forgotten after a couple years of stardom, now at 35 years old she has almost no money (she used to have a shopping addiction alright.)She works three jobs to afford rent. She works at Netal office typing out advertisements during the day, and works all the shifts she can get in the evenings at her local burger place... studio apartments are so expensive these days.
Laura comes across as quite a dissmisive stuck up person - but that couldn't be further from the truth that she was just very monotonous socially and for some people that's hard to understand.
With no other support system she becomes homeless, Gertrude eventually notices, realizes without intervening Laura is lowkey doomed and invites her to live together.
Because she's so burnt out from constantly working she doesn't have any real hobbies which leads to depression among other things.
